Team Community Service Project

We are excited to announce our Fall 2020 community service project! We attempt to plan 1-2 activities per school year for our athletes to participate in as a team. This is a completely optional activity and no one is required to attend.

To participate in this event, you must donate items and indicate what you are bringing on the attached sign up genius. Number of items you bring will dictate number of bags you create. 5 items = 1 kit

Date: Sunday, October 18

Time: 3pm-4pm

Location: Brushy Creek Lake Park, Pavilions

Details:

We will be assembling kits to donate to our local veterans. The South Central Texas Hospice Veteran Partnership is collecting large Ziploc bag kits to distribute to homebound veterans who are struggling during this pandemic. Each kit will contain a variety of 5 full size items, including hygiene products, crafts, and snacks. We will meet up at the park with our donated items and assemble the bags together (while socially distant). Please go to the Sign-Up Genius to RSVP and let us know what you will be bringing to donate. Let us know if you will be attending so that we can properly plan for social distancing. If you cannot attend but would still like to donate, that is appreciated too! Items can be brought to park on event day or can be porch dropped at 1511 Silver Oak Trail. (Ziploc bags will be provided for this activity.)

Deborah Silva and Cara Mastrian will be dropping off kits the next day, Monday, October 19. However, if you want volunteer hours, you can do your own drop off (M-F 8:30am-5pm) and get your documentation signed at 1101 Arrow Point Drive, Suite 301, Cedar Park, TX 78613. Every 4 kits = 1 volunteer hour.

*This is a NHS Approved Service Hour Project per Ms Maupin if students provide necessary signed documentation per NHS guidelines
